To be considered for federal student aid, prospective students must complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The purpose of this form is to collect financial information in order to calculate the expected family contribution (EFC). An EFC will determine a student’s eligibility through computer matches with other agencies. Our financial aid administrators are available to walk individuals through the process of applying for financial aid. The FAFSA is available to view online by CLICKING HERE.
Eligibility for federal student aid is based on financial need in addition to several other factors. The financial aid administrators at American Trade School will determine eligibility based on the results of your FAFSA. Most importantly, make sure to enter our school code on your FAFSA: 041748
Federal Pell Grant
Unlike a student loan, a Federal Pell Grant does not have to be repaid. Pell Grants are considered a foundation of federal financial aid, to which aid from other federal and non-federal sources may be added. In addition, Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who have not previously earned a Bachelor’s or Professional Degree.
